Born to Solve a Problem

My father passed away unexpectedly some years ago, followed shortly by my brother-in-law. My family and I did our best to support my mom and my sister, but I still had to watch them struggle not only with their grief, but with handling the lives their husbands left behind.

Despite having built a technology-driven company responsible for solving problems for new businesses, I felt helpless. That’s when we decided to take what we knew best and make it work for people like my mom and sister. We took the tools we use for customers to form businesses and stay in compliance and created processes to help people go through afterlife planning.

Sure Legacy was built with my mom and sister in mind so that it would have all the features one would want to leave behind for their family, while being so intuitive that even someone with limited digital experience could use it to the fullest. Of course, we also wanted to bring a surprising sense of delight to the serious and dour topic of after life planning.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away before a few months before we launched the site in 2021, but she had already done some basic planning on her own. It made a world of difference for my siblings and me, but we are still dealing with a variety of little annoyances. With Digital Safe, we can make it easier, more fun, and more comprehensive to bring planning to the masses.

After-life planning is a serious topic, and we take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We don’t think there should be a stigma or dourness to after-life planning. Have a little fun setting things aside for your family to discover after you’re gone!
